Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why is the water
occasionally cloudy or discolored?
Our water may occasionally be
cloudy or discolored for two reasons:
-Unauthorized use of fire hydrants.
-Bi-annual hydrant flushing for maintenance of the water supply system and
fire protection system.
2. What is the fluoride
level kept at?
The level is typically kept at
between 0.8 and 1.2 PPM.
3. What well feeds my
house?
The entire water system is
looped, so there is a mix of all the wells. However, you may receive more water from
one particular well based on the location of the well compared to your home
(see "Well & Tank Sites").
4. Is the water safe to
drink?
YES. The WTMUA meets all NJDEP
water standards. You can review the list of contaminants tested for and the results
at "Drinking Water Lab Analysis".
5) Do I need a home
treatment system or bottled water?
NO. Unless you have special
needs or requirements. |
